How we work

We provide clear and realistic advice. Whilst we will always safeguard and pursue your interests rigorously, we are mindful that the most successful outcomes are usually those agreed between couples rather than imposed by a court.

We will decide with you which approach will be best for you.

Some of the options include:

  • Traditional litigation
  • Mediation
  • Collaborative law
  • Arbitration
  • Negotiations between solicitors

Lisa Jones, Claire Nickolds, Rachel Woodd and Laura Smail are all collaborative lawyers. They are members of several collaborative ‘PODs’.  A POD is a group of like-minded solicitors who can work together to achieve the best outcome for your family.

Claire Nickolds and Rachel Woodd are Resolution trained mediators. Where appropriate they can work with couples to resolve their issues on separation.

We are able to keep our fees low by cutting out the high overheads central London practices encounter.  Our aim is to obtain the best outcome for you without you spending more than is necessary on legal costs.

We can sometimes offer a fixed fee arrangement for the divorce process. This fixed fee agreement is limited to preparation of the divorce petition and other documents to progress the divorce suit and does not include any legal advice. The fee is £500 plus VAT plus the Court fee (which is currently £550). The fixed fee applies only to undefended divorces where no additional applications are required to progress the suit and where the work is undertaken by a paralegal, not a solicitor.
